The images at my works are Archetypes – generic, global symbols unaffected by time or cultural belonging. The motifs are idols – The "big mother/ goddess" that represents the maternal aspect - fertility, offering, dedication and holy ceremonies;
The open palm (" Hamsa" – Arabic for five) - a symbol of protecting and magical hand. The "mandala", Sanskrit for "Holy Circle", is an ancient icon. It's a holy diagram, a circle which within lies a holy area. It symbolizes a structure which has a center point, circles, geometric and symmetric objects which represent the center of the universe. The circle is a universal symbol which is holy in most of the cultures as natural shape. The "Manadla" symbolizes the spirit of man, as much as it symbolizes the soul of the universe. It appears in India, Tibet, native-American culture, with the aborigines, in prehistoric cave drawings, religious symbols and as a part of the philosophic perception of the various religions.
When viewing the joined history of mankind, Archetypes are it's legacy and they are expressed by symbols, religious ceremonies, myths, dreams etc.
We all should aspire for tolerance and reconciliation between ourselves and one with the others, and by using those archetypes we can bridge over the differences.
