The game of backgammon has been played by mankind for thousands of years just as the wars in our region, as well as reconciliation attempts, have been part of our existence. The two parts of the game are marked symbolically by the parties' flag colors. The flags are not illustrated, the colors are marked; the boundaries are unclear. The chosen color for the box is white. Not just as an symbol of purity but also as the only mutual color for both flags – the emphasis is on finding the similar. The players, blue which signifies Israel and the green – the Palestinians, are mixed; they are different from one another. They are similar to each other. They are water rocks from the sea. The sea is common. It can be different. It's possible to be together. One can look for the common denominator and starts from this point on; finding the similar instead of emphasizing the different.
The dice is missing. It's not about luck. It's about
communication, searching for the common, looking at the past
with forgiveness and forward at a better future for both
parties with respect, completion and mainly understanding
that as soon as we pave the way to communication, reconciliation and finding the common, we will all benefit from this (our world will be improved/all mankind will benefit from this new place/situation).
